Corporate Social Investment (CSI)

Our CSI initiatives focus on supporting charities and black-owned start-up businesses
in the communities surrounding our Springs-based plant in Johannesburg, Gauteng.

Local charities we support

CDC Dust Control supports the community in which it operates by supporting local charities, businesses and promoting employee involvement in our CSI charity initiatives.

Vita Nova

A residential facility in Springs, Johannesburg, that caters to those affected by cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, Autism and other mental illnesses. It also accommodates those with physical disabilities and children living with HIV. The home currently supports 118 abandoned and handicapped residents.

We have supported this initiative since 2015 and contribute financially on a bi-annual basis.

Our personnel lend a helping hand when possible.

Hope & Halos

Founded and operated by 2 CDC employees, the Hope & Halos charity spreads its arms wide, assisting Springs-based families and animals in need.

We make regular contributions to this cause, and our other employees also lend a helping hand when possible.

We support charities and aid BEE start-ups in Johannesburg’s East Rand
Springs Community where our plant is located.

Local businesses we support

Maria’s Pap and Vleis

Known for her delectable “Pap and Vleis”, Maria serves the local Springs community with her warm meals and infectious smile.

After tragedy struck and a truck demolished Maria’s roadside food stall, CDC Dust Control came to the rescue. We sponsored a new food trailer to prevent Maria from facing hardship and ensuring the continuation of her cherished role in the community. In these challenging times, acts of kindness serve as powerful reminders of our ability to positively make a difference in each other’s lives.

EM & OU Solutions

Supplier of cleaning and general services, including delivery of stationery, PPE and groceries to businesses in and around Springs.

Our role is based on supporting and developing a young team with a start-up business that serves the community.

In the first few years of support, CDC:

  • sponsored the owners’ costs of acquiring their driver’s licences,
  • donated a second-hand vehicle, and
  • covered vehicle insurance costs for a limited period.

On an ongoing basis, CDC:

  • covers vehicle tracking costs,
  • purchases all our required PPE, office stationery and groceries from the business, and
  • makes use of their office sanitising services.

DBC Projects Management

DBC forms part of our BEE Supplier Development Programme. Supporting this company since 2016, we place all our manufacturing orders through DBC, ensuring ongoing business for them.

The company is also used to ensure CDC compliance to BEE criteria in instances when a proposed supplier does not meet the necessary required BEE scorecard criteria.

We support this company with our daily manufacturing requirement orders.

We support our local communities.

Send us your CSI queries, and we’ll call you back.
